[HowTo] Which is the right model of current version for me?

  • MS Windows
    • on a 32bit MS-Windows system use
      • for all InterBase
        • FreeAdhocUDF_IB_i32_MSVC9.dll (compiled with MS VisualC9)
      • for FireBird 1.5.x
        • FreeAdhocUDF_FB15x_i32_MSVC9.dll (compiled with MS VisualC9)
          or
        • FreeAdhocUDF_FB15x_i32_oWatC.dll (compiled with openWatcomC)
      • for FireBird 2.x
        • FreeAdhocUDF_FB2x_i32_MSVC9.dll (compiled with MS VisualC9)
    • on a 64bit MS-Windows system if you are using 32bit database server
      • the same as 32bit MS-Windows
    • on a 64bit MS-Windows system if you are using 64bit database server
      • 64bit InterBase
        • FreeAdhocUDF_IB_i64_MSVC9.dll (compiled with MS VisualC9)
      • 64bit FireBird 1.5.x server inexistent
      • 64bit FireBird 2.0.x server inexistent
      • for FireBird 2.1.x and 2.5.x
        • FreeAdhocUDF_FB2x_i64_MSVC9.dll (compiled with MS VisualC9)
    • The library must be renamed to FreeAdhocUDF.dll (case insensitivity)
  • Linux
    • On Linux the model you have to use depends on the version of the glibC.
      Most of the models of FreeAdhocUDF where made with glibC 2.11 (on a ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx).
      If the glibC version of your distribution is newer, it will run.
      If the glibC version of your distribution is older, it CAN run ... but must not.
      In this case you must try other models.
    • on a current 32bit Linux system use
      • for all InterBase
        • FreeAdhocUDF_IB_i32.so (compiled with gnuC on ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx)
      • for FireBird 1.5.x
        • FreeAdhocUDF_FB15x_i32.so (compiled with gnuC on ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx)
      • for FireBird 2.x
        • FreeAdhocUDF_FB2x_i32.so (compiled with gnuC on ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx)
    • on an older 32bit Linux system, or one of the above doesn't run use
      • for all InterBase
        • not longer made - if needed, please ask, would be
          FreeAdhocUDF_IB_i32_glibC23.so (compiled with gnuC on ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake)
      • for FireBird 1.5.x
        • FreeAdhocUDF_FB15x_i32_glibC23.so (compiled with gnuC on ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake)
      • for FireBird 2.x
        • FreeAdhocUDF_FB2x_i32_glibC23.so (compiled with gnuC on ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake)
    • on a 32bit SuSe-Linux 9.0 to 10.0 system use
      • for all InterBase
